Introducing two new regular posts at Speed Chic: "Speed Reads" and "Tickets, Please"!
Now that Lightening and Thunder are out of babyhood and all that entails--diapers, bottles and a slightly dazed & sleep-deprived mumsy, I can actually focus enough to read a book again.
It took 5 years, but the brain is back on and seems to (be sic) functioning somewhat near it's its former capacity, if not better--now that my life experience has expanded a bit.
Hence, I give you "Speed Reads", an opportunity to share some good books with y'all. If you like strong female characters and flights of fashion fancy woven into a mini escape all nestled on your nightstand, join me here (and share in the Comments section what you are reading!)
Currently, I am completely absorbed in The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly (like Downton Abbey? Read The Tea Rose for a peek at its plucky heroine's brush with the seamier side of London life in the 1880's)...
Yes, go see Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence
get their act together in this movie!

Also, sometimes I am too tired to actually do anything, but don't want to squander my precious babysitting hours by wandering around the house folding laundry. A trip to the cinema, anyone?
Check out the occasional post "Tickets, Please" and see what's worth the price of admission.
A "quick trip to the grocery store" can easily turn into an adventure in a velvet chair, if you book your sitter for three hours...
Pass the popcorn, please!

I'm about to start a book on home organization and then I have a Harlequin romance. I haven't read one of those since I was 16 but something prompted me to relive my youth. I can't remember the titles right now. I'm sighting old age.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting some time back to read! I remember how excited I was when I was able to get to that part of my time back.
I know! I wish I had been this happy to read in high school...or college.
