Gimme some Gwynnie

Party perfect Paltrow.

More substantial than Essie's "Sugar Daddy" and more exciting than the brand's safe "Ballet Slippers", nail pro Deborah Lippman's "Naked" nail polish seriously makes me feel like Gwyneth in the front row of a Cold Play concert--chic, edgy and rich.

It's a lot to expect from a manicure, I know--but Lippman packs a perfect one-two punch with her "Touch My Kiss" kit. Not only do you get her gorgeous neutral polish (her "go to" shade for celeb clients and fashion shoots btw) but the box also includes that perfect sheer pinky-mauve lipstick I have been on the prowl for since my first days as an underling at a fashion mag.

Another item in my beauty arsenal that makes me feel like there should be a driver waiting outside for me so I don't get my Manolos soiled is Rodin's Olio Lusso jasmine scented face oil. This glossy, golden ambrosia is so divine I have to remind myself not to drink it, while its pretty, exotic scent evokes a glide around a lotus pond under a pink parasol.

 

 

Of course, at $150 a bottle I will most certainly continue to drive myself in the mom van and hang on to my broken umbrella for a few more hurricane seasons, but hey--who needs new rain gear when you've got glowing skin that can withstand those evil fluorescent lights they've installed in the bathroom at our local playgym?
