Pretty in Pink: Glam-over Giveaway!

Oh, Andie... Make it tighter! Lower the neckline!

I love an '80's makeover movie--who could forget the pivotal moment when Baby realizes she's hot stuff as she struts across that bridge in her denim short shorts, cami & Keds?? Or when Andie takes that godawful prom dress her dad bought at Kmart and sews it up into another, more appropriate, hideous dress (for the sake of the movie the viewing audience has to agree that the plaid pink sack she made is cute). How about Pretty Woman's shopping montage from "Street" to "Chic" aided and abetted by Gere's winsome credit card? All dreams come true in the movies (a bottomless charge account attached to a wry and handsome Mr. Wonderful? Sold!) and at Speed Chic's Glam-over Giveaway!

I'll take that and that and that, please.

Jewelry auctioneer and fun blog Ball + Chain has generously sponsored today's Glam-over Giveaway--here's how you win:

Simply "Like" Ball+Chain at www.facebook.com/shopballandchain and Speed Chic at www.facebook.com/speedchicblog and comment below with your favorite makeover moment--real or cinematic.

One winner gets the whole set--wear it to your next trip to Cannes (or the market, whichever comes first)...

We Have A Winner! (updated 8/13/12)
Welp, I tried to give away this jewelry to our first winner, but I never heard back from her...When my own sweet momma wrote in the following comment, I had to give her the gold! Thanks, ma!

My favorite make-over moment: I was 35 years-old, recently divorced and living with my father because I had just had a mastectomy, and Dad gave me his credit card and told me to buy some pretty clothes. Although my hair did fall out (from the freshly started chemo) while I was trying on hats, I bought clothes that made me feel beautiful and gave me a resurgence of resolve to live fully: gold hoop ear rings; a gold necklace; a pink plaid skirt; an oatmeal blazer; some bright blouses. Magic. Thank you, dad.

  1. I liked both on Facebook. My favorite makeover would have to be Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I just love that movie!

  2. Thanks Maria! Me too--Julia Roberts is so young and fresh in that movie. Kind of makes me want to wear over-the-knee boots and a side cut-out minidress!
